Choong Chun Hoong

Choong is a seasoned expert in Safety Lifecycle Management with 25 years of experience spanning project management, SIF performance analysis, and functional safety consultancy. Currently serving as a Functional Safety Project Lead at HIMA Asia Pacific, he has played a key role in leading safety-critical projects across the region.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (Merit) from The University of Northampton, UK, and a Bachelor Honours Degree in Electronic Systems Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. Recognized for his expertise, he is a TÜV Rheinland Certified Functional Safety Engineer (FS Eng.) and recipient of the Leadership Award in MBA (2015).

With a deep understanding of safety standards, risk assessment, and IEC compliance, he has been instrumental in implementing functional safety solutions that enhance industrial reliability and integrity in the oil and gas sector.
