Dr. Jeffrey Joyce

Dr. Jeffrey Joyce is the head of a Canadian engineering consultancy, Critical Systems Labs Inc. (CSL), with an international reputation for expertise in system safety for complex systems.  For nearly two decades, Dr. Joyce and his colleagues have provided expertise to companies and government agencies in Singapore. He leads a team of highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in computer science, mechanical engineering and Artificial Intelligence.  With high profile clients in Europe, North America and Asia, Dr. Joyce and his team have helped clients solve challenging problems across multiple technical domains ranging from remote operation of a hydroelectricity generation plant to space robotics. His experience includes both independent review and helping clients obtain certification and regulatory approval from certification authorities including TÜV Rheinland.  He has contributed to the development of several international industry safety standards including ISO 26262 (automotive) and RTCA DO-178C (aerospace).  Dr. Joyce earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cambridge University (UK), with earlier degrees from the University of Calgary and the University of Waterloo.
