Dr. Zhao Yong

Dr. Zhao Yong is a Principal Consultant at Oskefer Consulting Pte Ltd, with 19 years of experience in forensic engineering investigation, root cause analysis, and failure analysis. Dr Zhao holds a B.E. in Welding Engineering and an M.E. in Materials Processing Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, as well as a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Dr Zhao is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3), and also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), a Certified Fire Investigation Instructor (CFII), and a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators, International.

In his over 19 years of professional engineering consulting experience, D Zhao  has investigated over three hundreds engineering failures / incidents / accidents involving multiple industry sectors, e.g., Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Transportation, etc. Dr Zhao has been engaged as Expert Witness in multiple high-profile litigation cases and has attended court hearings/trials in Singapore and Malaysia, and his expert reports, opinions, and testimonies have been followed by the courts.
